I'm almost exactly two weeks away from my first vaperversary. That first week I had a handful of juices, and they were mostly crap that I found unpalatable. The saving grace the first couple days of vaping was a 3ml sample of Vapure VY4 that Rick sent with my Copper.
Like most people, I love a good deal, and I started with like 120ml of Vapor Renu because it was so cheap. It was also unvapable. So I vaped the hell out of Wyatt Earp and VY4, which were the only two juices I had at first that I could stomach. The following week I got my first Vapor Station and Backwoods orders, and I was ok from that point, but that first week I owe to FSUSA and Vapure.
To commemorate one year of vaping I am revisting VY4 this week. I haven't vaped it since then, and there's a lot of juice under the bridge since then. Let's see how it holds up to a veteran palate.
I will be vaping today's 24mg 100%VG juice at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.5 ohm 306 atty.
The nose of this juice is sweet and slightly smoky, but I don't get big pointers about it being caramel or vanilla in the aroma.
The flavor on inhale is slightly sweet. I do not get an overwhelming sense of caramel. In fact, I just get the sweetness on inhale. This juice is probably the most tobacco-like RY4 I've ever vaped. This really suggests tobacco when you vape it. Maybe that's because those other flavors don't dominate the vape, but this does feel more like a tobacco vape than most RY4s do. Throat hit is maybe just slightly below average, so for a 100% VG juice it's pretty good.
The flavor on exhale is again, one that suggests a tobacco vape more than a sickly sweet caramel-vanilla concoction like most RY4s. The caramel is way in the background here, if there is actually any caramel at all. There is a possibility that this vape is merely sweetened, as I don't get any convincing evidence to validate that caramel or vanilla are in this. Vapor production is very thick, as you would expect from an all VG juice.
Well this is either a very subdued RY4 or a lightly sweetened tobacco vape. It's a refreshing change from all the sickly sweet candy vapes labeled as RY4. It does suggest to your brain that you're vaping a tobacco, and the sweetness is a nice complement to the slightly smoky body here. Instead of calling this one a bland RY4, I am going to say that Vapure has distinguished themselves by making a variant on the old theme that doesn't taste like any of the others. On its own merits, Vapure VY4 is a solid tobacco vape with a little sweetness. It produces gobs of vapor, and it gives me a pleasant vape, much like it did a year ago when I was a fledgling vaper who turned to it because all the other juice in The Castle was garbage. I can recommend this juice. It doesn't knock any of the top RY4s of their perch, but it's a solid vape and will please those who like the idea of an RY4 that won't send them into diabetic shock. Recommended.
